The Siembra-HoLAGrav Young Frontiers Meeting (YFM) is a yearly ongoing series of conferences with a two-fold objective. Firstly it seeks to bring young Latinoamerican researchers to the frontier of the current understanding of Holography and related topics. Hence, generating a collaborative environment for young researchers, postdocs and PhDs to engage in discussions and to generate new collaborations. Secondly, it seeks to bridge the gap between the Senior members of the Siembra-HoLAGrav network and the younger generations by fomenting the interaction with the activities developed.
This offspring of the Siembra HoLA-Grav Collaboration was created during the COVID-19 pandemic by young students of the Collaboration to avoid a complete absence of events in those trying times. The first couple of events had a huge positive impact in the community and thus a yearly set of events was envisioned. The low maintenance required by the online nature of the events guarantees the continuity of the events with almost no external financing and also provides fertile ground for young researchers of the Collaboration to get familiarized with event financing and organization.
The meeting consists of a series of pedagogical lectures, given by young researchers of the network, that aim to introduce the students to different areas of modern Holography. Followed by a series of seminars in which advanced PhD students and postdocs present their latest research work, and finally a Gong Show for the new PhD students to showcase their research topic.
All lectures were recorded and can be found at our YouTube channel: @young.frontiers.meeting
Discussion Sessions are not recorded in order to provide a more welcoming environment for discussion for all interested participants.
